When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?

Newborn portraits are best captured within the first 4–14 days after birth, when your baby is still oh-so-sleepy and naturally curls into those sweet, womb-like poses. For little ones who arrive early and spend extra time in the hospital, I recommend scheduling your session within the first week of coming home.


To ensure availability, I encourage families to reserve their newborn session during pregnancy—your due date will be placed on my calendar, and once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize your session date. I accept a limited number of newborns each month to allow flexibility for those early arrivals, so booking ahead is the best way to secure your spot.


If your baby has already arrived, don’t worry—I’ll do my very best to accommodate you, or happily connect you with a trusted fellow photographer if my schedule is full.

We do not offer discounts on our newborn collections. Our pricing reflects the time, care, and expertise required to create a thoughtful, safe, and fully guided newborn experience.


That said, clients who previously booked a maternity session with us receive a studio credit toward their newborn session. The credit amount is based on the maternity collection booked and is automatically applied at the time of booking.
